JibberJobber Testimonial I will continue using JibberJobber

JibberJobber Testimonial I will continue using JibberJobber… Last week I got this fantabulous message from a JibberJobber user. I really appreciate the time people spend to share this type of feedback. This was out-of-the-blue, unsolicited. Hi, I just wanted to thank the JibberJobber staff for helping me stay organized during my latest job search. I had been unemployed at other times in my life and it was much easier to stay organized this time with JibberJobber at my disposal. I found hunting for a job to be less grueling as I was able to organize contacts and companies online, instead of using paper and pen as I had previously been doing. I received a wonderful offer Friday from one of the contacts I had stored in my JibberJobber account, and I credit your service with helping me stay organized enough to find employment. I will continue using JibberJobber for storing information about companies and contacts. This way if or when the time comes when I need to look for work again, I will be able to use previously established contacts to shorten that job search. Thank you again for offering this great service. I will continue recommending JibberJobber to others who are looking for work. Melissa C. Thank you Melissa!  What a great story to share with me and my team we LOVE to read this stuff! Also, congratulations for getting it.  You say when I need to look for work again.  That time will come and your preparation now will help make the transition much smoother than it would otherwise be! The 7 Steps to Writing an Interview-Winning CV

The 7 Steps to Writing an Interview-Winning CV Your CV is your number one marketing tool when it comes to landing job interviews, so you need to  ensure that it stands out from the crowd and catches the eye of the employers you are most interested in. The key to creating a top notch CV is knowing exactly how to structure your CV and how to best market your skills and experience in a way that will get employers attention. If youre unsure about what to include in your CV,  StandOut CV have created this handy infographic showing how to write an interview-  winning CV in just seven simple steps. 1) Research your target employers: Before you start writing your CV, you should find out exactly  what your target employers want to see on applicants’ CVs. Search for relevant jobs online, make a  list of the most popular requirements and link them to your own skills and knowledge. Including keywords will also help your application to beat application tracking systems, as unfortunately a lot of CVs dont actually get seen by a human if they dont make it through the initial digital  screening process. 2) Format and structure are crucial: A busy CV can be off putting and confusing! You need to ensure that recruiters and employers can  navigate your CV easily and pick out the key information that they need. Divide your CV sections  clearly with bold headings, use a simple font and break up text for ease of reading. Try to restrict it to a page or two, as the recruiters decision to progress your application will be based on the key information, not your  life story! 3) Make a big impression with your profile: The profile that you include at the beginning of your CV is crucial as i  is the very first thing an employer will  read and it could even be the deciding factor for recruiters when they are rushed for time and scanning through dozens of CVs.  Make sure  that it is packed with in-demand skills and knowledge, but show some personality too, so you dont sound like a cliche! Try to keep it short and sharp to  draw readers in and encourage them to read your CV in full. 4) Structure your role descriptions properly: Job titles dont always reveal much about what your previous roles entailed. In order to demonstrate the value that you can bring  to a new potential employer, you must use your role descriptions to showcase what you’ve  achieved for past employers. Start with an overall summary, then describe your responsibilities  in bullet points and try to add some key achievements to prove your input. 5) Adapt your education: The amount of information that you need to give about your education really depends on the stage in your career you are at. List your education at the bottom of your CV and adapt the amount of  detail depending on your experience level. Less experienced candidates should include lots of  education information, whereas more experienced candidates can use a short summary. 6) Keep interests relevant: Interests are an optional section so only include interest that can add  value to your job applications in terms of showing a bit of personality or demonstrating your true interest in the industry. Culture fit is a big factor that is considered when making a new hire, so some recruiters and employers may take a look at your interests to gage what kind of person you are and how they feel you would fit in at their organisation. 7) Triple check your CV: Mistakes in your CV can seriously damage your job hunting chances, so  make sure you thoroughly proof read your CV before sending it out to employers. Spelling and grammar errors can look sloppy, so its best to get a second opinion from a family member or friend ahead of sending it off.

My Dirty Hair Confession

My Dirty Hair Confession We all have different types of hair, so while this routine may or may not work for you, I would encourage you to give dirty hair a try! There are lots of great dry shampoos on the market, and the voluminous ‘dirty hair’ look is in!  Do you want  beachy waves and tousled tresses? Then try rocking some dirty hair! So here are the details on my three-day ‘no-wash’ routine. Follow along for tips and tricks, and be sure to check out my video below! Lets be honest the process of washing, drying and styling hair can be an arduous one. Especially if you have long or thick hair like I do. For so long I would find myself dreading the process until a light bulb finally went off (**ding**) its time to perfect my ‘dirty’ hair routine.      Day 1: Wash Day Day number one is my least favorite day. . . you know, the day you actually have to wash your hair. On day one I give myself a bouncy blowout with the following steps: 1. Once hair is washed and conditioned, towel dry to get rid of excess moisture. This will ultimately help your hair dry faster and allow the hair cuticle to absorb products better. 2.  Apply It’s A 10 Miracle Leave In Conditioner to damp hair all over. This will help detangle and protect hair while making it more manageable, shiny and conditioned. Don’t worry, its not heavy and won’t make you’re hair greasy. Brush through damp hair with a flat paddle brush to get rid of any knots or kinks. Blow dry hair. You can start by blow drying pretty messily. Once your hair is nearly dry, reach for a large round brush. This will add volume at the crown and give a bit of curl to the ends of your hair. I would highly recommend using your blow dryer’s ‘cool shot’ button if it has one. The cool shot will help set the curls and hold them in place throughout the day. Once hair is completely dry, apply a light finishing hairspray. If you like a little extra volume, sprinkle a bit of volumizing hair powder at the roots like Big Sexy Hair’s Powder Play.   Day #1 Tips: Don’t try curling your hair on day one. It’ll likely be too squeaky clean to hold the curl and they’ll end up falling flat. Sleep with your hair in a bun clipped to the top of your head with a jaw clip. This will eliminate any bumps commonly caused by hair ties. If your hair is too thick to be held up by one clip, use multiple clips or section the hair into two princess leia looking buns. Day #2: Curl It! On day two, the hair is a little dirtier and ready to be curled! To achieve that beautiful beach wave, I reach for my one inch clipless curling iron. You can use any type of curling iron you like to create a number of different styles, but be sure to follow these steps: 1.Unclip hair from bun. 2. Brush out any major kinks or knots with a flat brush. 3. Prep hair with a heat protectant. 4. Begin curling hair. Remember to curl away from your face! Depending on how tight or loose you want the curls to look you can curl smaller or larger sections. Play around to determine what looks best for you. Spritz the hair with hairspray after curling. If your hair is suborn and known for not holding curl, try Paul Micthell’s Hot Off The Press Thermal Protection Hairspray. It adds a bit of gritty texture to the hair, which helps hold the curls. Spray roots with a volumizing dry shampoo like Big Sex Hair’s Volumizing Dry Shampoo or Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder and shake fingers through the roots. This motion will help the dry shampoo absorb and add more volume to your hair. Once curls are completely cooled, brush through with fingers to loosen them up and create a more natural wavy look. Add more hairspray if needed to finish off the look â€" and don’t forget to sleep with your curls clipped to the top of your head at night to preserve them! Day #2 Tips: If you have dark hair, consider using a dark colored dry shampoo. The non-colored versions can sometimes leave a white residue. Also, don’t be afraid to rough up the roots! You can also tease the crown with a comb for added volume. Day #3: Assess the Situation Day number three is sort of a toss up. It’s the point in time where you need to evaluate your hair’s condition and decide what to do next. If you slept with your hair clipped up in a bun, your curls should still be intact. In that case, you can simply refresh them by brushing through any knots and re-curling sections.   Or, you might find that your hair is looking a bit wild on day three â€" and that’s ok! Let your hair go crazy! The mangled crazy sex hair look is actually quite ‘in’ right now. Whatever you decide, the key to making your hair last through day three is refreshing with some more dry shampoo! If needed, you can always reach for a head scarf, cute headband or experiment with fun hairstyles like braids, twists or the infamous sock bun!  Another simple way you can purchase suitable lace hair wigs to create different styles. Whatever you choose, just make sure you look polished and feel comfortable so you can keep looking your very best even with a little dirty hair secret! Go ahead and have fun with it! We wont tell!

3 tips for fostering a unified office spirit across continents

3 tips for fostering a unified office spirit across continents 3 tips for fostering a unified office spirit across continents When it came time for Shmulik Weller, CEO of SundaySky, to expand his company from Tel Aviv, Israel, and open a new U.S. headquarters in New York, he was challenged with maintaining the corporate culture as the business grew. Not only was the employee count growing quickly, but there were time differences, new languages and unique cultures to contend with â€" not to mention the fact that many employees would not be able to meet each other face-to-face. I spoke with Weller for his advice and best practices to help business leaders maintain their company culture during high-growth periods, whether expanding across continents or just to a new city. Here are his three tips: 1. Build the right team The foundation of everything in business starts with the people you hire, and Weller suggests founders compare the skill-versus-will attributes of new recruits. Are the candidates coachable? Do they constantly learn new things on their own, within the job or outside of it? Do they have the will to learn new ideas they might not already know? “Coachability” is a trait SundaySky executives always look for in potential new hires as well as a characteristic the executives embody themselves, says Weller. Appreciate every employee’s past experiences, but also be sure to set new hires’ expectations to adjust for new roles by suggesting they absorb as much as possible during the first few weeks. While each office usually has its own sub-culture, startups should embrace and uphold a unified company spirit across all locations. “We’re still very conscious of who we recruit in order to preserve the culture we’ve built, Weller says. We’re fortunate to be able to recruit from a large pool of candidates who are at the top of their games.” When hiring for a new position, don’t just look for someone at the top of his or her game; take the time to find a candidate who embodies the corporate spirit and brings a combination of creativity and intelligence to the company. Also, make sure each candidate meets with multiple people on the team. Still today, Weller makes the effort to meet each candidate personally (via Skype if necessary). 2. Encourage professional development Weller says he and co-founder Yaniv Axen have been able to foster an environment of constant education with a strong work ethic and plenty of fun along the way. Executives can establish a learning organization, and emphasize team growth by learning from and coaching each other. At SundaySky, this ethos has filtered throughout the organization that now spans offices in four countries. Maintaining the company’s culture of working hard and celebrating success together has been the most important priority for Weller as he and his team continue to build the company around the globe. It’s especially important for companies with multiple offices to host offsite training weeks where dispersed teams come together to roleplay, share lessons and knowledge, and practice skills such as attentive listening and objection handling. Another facet to this educational culture is learning by mistakes. Making mistakes should not be judged or looked down upon, says Weller, as long as everyone is learning from those mistakes. This creates an environment where coachable people thrive. 3. Empower the whole team Socrates based his leadership style on letting his counterparts reach the answers themselves rather than telling them what to do. Weller learns from his team all the time and is focused on providing them with the infrastructure to succeed and excel, which makes sense for an executive who admires Socrates as a leader. Weller advises company leaders to empower everyone on the team to reach their own answers, rather than delegating, which helps hone critical thinking skills. In his experience, the results of this approach are apparent in the quality and collaborative nature of the SundaySky team. Additionally, ownership and accountability are core to the culture and highly valued. Weller is adamant about allowing every person the freedom to be accountable for his or her roles â€" to be the CEOs of their own domains. And he communicates this to every new hire, too. For startups that strive to become global organizations, it’s important to balance and preserve the same innate energy, ambition, and enthusiasm from their origins. “Potential employees value the quality of the team you’ve built,” says Weller, “and they will want to uphold that even as they help grow the company in their own ways.”

Police Verbal Reasoning What to Expect - How 2 Become

Police Verbal Reasoning What to Expect - How 2 Become Are you thinking about a career as a police officer?Do you know the process of how to get into this career?Aspiring police officers face a gruelling time when applying to join the police force. Not only do they have to submit an application form, but there are a whole host of assessments for you to undertake, and pass, in order to become a police officer.A challenging times lies ahead for anyone who is thinking about undergoing the police officer selection process. However, with time and effort, you will be able to increase your chances of being successful in the application process.POLICE INITIAL RECRUITMENT TESTS (PIRT)As I mentioned before, aspiring police officers will have to undertake many tests and assessments. This is more commonly known as the ‘Police Initial Recruitment Tests (PIRT)’.The PIRT is an exam which consists of a numerical and verbal reasoning assessment. Both tests are multiple choice, and both tests will have to be passed if you wish to move on to the next s tage of the police officer selection process. For this blog, I am going to focus on how to pass the police verbal reasoning test. However, for a more general overview of police officer tests, please click on the link to be directed to our in-depth page on police officer tests. #image_137676482{width:100%}POLICE VERBAL REASONING TESTOkay, so what is the police verbal reasoning test all about?Well, the police verbal reasoning test will, of course, assess your verbal reasoning skills and how well you are able to read, understand and analyse information. You will be given a passage. Within this passage, you will be given a scenario. From this, you will be given statements about that passage, and you will have to work out whether each statement is TRUE, FALSE or IMPOSSIBLE TO SAY. The key thing to remember: When reading the passage, when it comes to working out whether the statement is true, false or impossible to say, it is important that, and I cannot stress this enough, you ONLY focus o n the information provided in the passage.Even if you know something to be incorrect, or you don’t agree with what is being said… it is important that you only stick to the information provided to you in the passage.Let’s take a look at an example:Statement A • Impossible to say. The passage does not state who was injured in the crash, only that ‘one person suffered a broken arm’. You cannot confirm that this was the driver of the Ford Fiesta.Statement B• True. The passage clearly states that the person injured in the crash had already been taken to hospital, before the police even arrived.Statement C• True. The passage states that the accident occurred at ‘3pm’. In military time, this is 1500 hours, which makes this statement correct.POLICE VERBAL REASONING PRACTICE QUESTIONSBelow I have provided you with 3 passages. Read each passage, and the statements that follow, and determine whether each statement is true, false or impossible to say.QUESTION 1 TRUE, FALSE OR IMPOSSIBLE TO SAY?QUESTION 2TRUE, FALSE OR IMPOSSIBLE TO SAY?QUESTION 3TRUE, FALSE OR IMPOSSIBLE TO SAY?ANSWERS â€" POLICE VERBAL REASONING TESTQUESTION 1 a) Impossible to say. It is not clear whether anyone saw anything. You cannot make this generalisation based on the information provided.b) True. The passage clearly states that the gunmen were seen driving off in a black van.c) True. Again, the passage states that the incident was picked up by CCTV.QUESTION 2 a) True. The passage states that the fire was arson, meaning is was started deliberately.b) Impossible to say. The passage does not actually state that the person seen running away was the culprit. Therefore, you cannot come to this conclusion.c) True. This fire is said to be one of two fires that has occurred at the factory.QUESTION 3 a) Impossible to say. The passage only sates that the man is between ’30 and 35’. It does not state his actual age, therefore you cannot conclude this.b) False. A hammer was used to sm ash the rear window, not the windscreen.c) Impossible to say. Just because the car was outside of Mrs Brown’s house, does not mean that the car is hers. Therefore you cannot conclude this based on the information. This entry was posted in Police, Career Advice, Resources. Bookmark the permalink.
